From
an Accident to a Profession
“It took a freak accident to open my eyes to the world
of medicine. Although it wasn’t a very pleasant experience
– neither the accident nor the treatment – I was
motivated to turn the experience around. I didn’t want
people to be hurt like I had been hurt through indifferent healthcare.
That’s why I’ve been devoted to making sure each
one of our patients feels special and cared for. I believe that
support is crucial to the healing process – whether you
have a sprained ankle or a broken spirit. I really feel we can
help put people back together again physically and mentally.”
Love Heals
“The concept of love is really bewildering if you sit
down and analyze it. But rather than focusing on what love is,
we focus on the effects of love – which assumes many guises.
Love nurtures. Love endures, Love encourages. Love is patient.
Love is kind. And that’s what we try to accomplish here
on a daily basis. Sometimes progress can’t be measured
quantitatively. When people know you care, true healing can
begin.”
Learning from Everyone
“Every day, I’m astounded at what I learn from the
people I’m privileged to meet with. Our “treatment”
is by no means one-sided. I feel something cathartic happens
when I take the time to listen to the people I’m caring
for. Whether I’m treating a child or performing laser
surgery. I take away something valuable, and something good,
from every appointment.”

From
Teaching to Learning
“As a teacher I seemed naturally drawn to children who
had been ‘labeled’ as ‘problem children.’
More and more people would ask me to help resolve social issues
that involved these children with special needs. So social work
and psychology seemed like a natural progression. I was, and
am, fascinated with people, their relationships and how they
work. The reality is that as much as I listen and advise, I
never stop learning.”
Finding the Balance
“What we’re working to achieve is a balance of mind,
body and spirit. Good health is dependent on a constructive,
realistic perspective of the world around you and the world
within you. We help you to get in touch with both worlds and
start to build from there. After that, anything and everything
is possible.”
Good Health Through Hope
“The most special moments are when I see people transformed
– when they become at home with themselves. My goal is
to help people confront their fears and conquer them. Whether
we’re dealing with codependent relationships, substance
abuse or personal crisis, the victory lies in being yourself.
I’m here to help you do just that – to find answers
and to get where you want to go in your life. Once you’ve
faced your fears, your achievements and potential are limitless.”
